What is Mark Up To?

The goofy legistlature is in session and that means that everyone is down there at the capital fighting about who gets what piece of the pie. There are lots of public safety bills that are introduced that could be harmful to officers and we all have faith that someone is taking care of representing us. We shouldn't be so sure.

There is a bill working it's way through the legislature that will eliminate the permit to carry a concealed weapon. The bill is making its way through the house without even a peep from PLEA. The bill would do away with the concealed carry permit program and allow ANYONE over 18 to carry a concealed weapon without a permit or a background check, or training class. Any gang-banger, meth-head, crook, creep -- absolutly anyone.

Anyone who has ever worked the streets knows this bill is bad news, so why isn't Spencer -- or anyone from PLEA down there trying to get the bill killed. Well, its not a big surprise that Arpaio loves the bill, so Spencer keeps his mouth shut like a good ho.

So what is Spencer doing with his time instead? He's trying to get the Police Pension Board to take away Jack Harris' DROP money. He sent in a letter asking them to take away his DROP money because he is still working for the city after he finished the DROP. What you should know is that Spencer already tried to get Harris' DROP taken away and was shown the door. I guess he just can't take no for an answer.

What kind of person goes after a guys pension? I mean, we work a long time looking forward to retirment. If Spencer got Harris' pension taken away -- and he won't -- then what? Does that mean he won?

The hearing in front of the Police Pension Board is on Friday, June 26, 12:00 p.m at 101 South Central Avenue, 6th Floor. If you've got the stomach for it you should stop by and watch Spencer make a fool of himself and PLEA. Nothing like seeing King Spencer in action. Heck, it would be fun to go just to watch him lose another battle.

  1. Going after a mans pension is worse than screwing his wife. At least you can get a new wife. Lower than pond scum.

  2. Beyond low. He is a coward and a freak. I'm ashamed that he is representing me.

  3. Great, gang bangers with concealed weapons. Does Mark think that it is not worth his time testify? Mark is Arpaio's ho. He doesn't give a damn about Phoenix Police. I'd be willing to bet that he has his eye on the Sherriffs job after this term. Arpaio is old and someone is going to replace him. I bet Mark thinks he would be perfect for the job. We can count on two more years of Spencer pimping PLEA to please Arpaio.

  4. He's a disguisting pig and doesn't deserve to wear the uniform.

  5. I know this is not "on topic." However, I thought all should know just how disappointed everyone at the sentencing for Officer Figueroa's murderer was with Mark Spencer. He showed up to speak in a formal court setting in a class D uniform. I do not care if officers wear that uniform while working, but not in front of Officer Figueroa's family and the judge at the sentencing while attempting to represent PLEA. In that setting it was unprofessional and embarrassing. Doesn't he have any respect? Then, of course, we had to listen to a tirade about illegal immigration from him. It was not the time or place. He should have given remarks about Officer Figueroa and all the other hard-working officers on the Department. Instead, he just had to give a political hack speech. Disgusting.

  6. Mark Spencer might be law enforcement but he is not a cop. If an officer is shot by a geeked-up meth head who can carry a weapon w/out a permit then that is on his head.

  7. Whats next? An increase in dues and if an officer says no Spencer goes after your pension? Where is all this money he is taking in going? Maybe syphoned off to Spencer's slush fund to run for Sheriff.

  8. Did you read the blog on AZCentral about the hearing. Mark didn't even have the balls to read the complaint. He made Joe Clure do it. I know he read the stuff on this site and he didn't want anyone watching him make a fool of himself. So now he is going to make Joe Clure do his dirty work.

  9. Figueroa was a good man and Spencer degraded his memory with his rant. Same goes for Jack Harris. He's a good man and an upstanding officer that Spencer has decided to target as a favor to the Sherriff. Disguisting.

  10. PLEA and Arpaio are joined at the hip, everything that spencer does is to make points with Joe.

I heard about the hearing on Friday and the word is the letter that Spencer submitted was discuisting. He claimed Jack had committed a crime. Same old crap that he has been spewing about Jack for years. All I"m saying is that what he is doing to Jack is not about the people he represents. I'm a PLEA member and I don't have any problem with Jack Harris.

  11. Also a member and never a problem with Harris. Up until this year I really never paid attention to Harris or PLEA. I gave my money to PLEA and figured they did good things with it and then just did my job best I could.

Same with Harris, Never paid much attention. He seemed to be a good guy, my Lts/Commanders never complained so figured he was good to us, didnt micromanage and was not a guy looking for headlines to get a better job in a bigger city. We all knew he came up as one of us in Phx PD as a street cop and has been here in Phoenix since the 70's.

I am really only paying attention now b/c other guys on the job are starting to point out that Spencer is working more for MCSO than for Phx PD. That really chaps me b/c MCSO has never been too good to good to us in the past. These are some of the same guys who have turned me on to the website. now a lot of us follow it every day and compare notes.

  12. Mark is a punk with a badge and represents everything that I disdain in a cop.

  13. Spencer's problem with Harris started long before he became the union president. There was stuff disappering under Spencers watch and Harris had to deal with the situation. Spencer doesn't want anyone in charge that has the guts to look him in the eye and tell him he's wrong. That's what Jack had to do and Spencer has resented it ever since.

  14. As a fellow law enforcemnt professional from another agency in the valley, I am outraged at what Spencer has done to your organization. PLEA was always known as the best and now it is seen as a joke. Why do the members allow the big blue machine to be neutered this way? Spencer, in his personal vendetta against Jack Harris and Phil Gordon, has made a deal with the devil, Arpaio, and it sickens me to see PLEA dragged down to the level of Arpaio. Stay strong my brothers and sisters and take back your union.....

  15. I was on a flight last week and I sat next to a retired officer from Indiana. When I told him that I was a Phoenix Police Officer the first thing he asked me was, "what the hell is going on over there?" He said that Phoenixs labor management relationship was legendary and that other department looked to us as the leaders. He knew all about the battle between Spencer and Harris his words, "what a tragedy." I agree.

  16. This is a great blog site, thank you.

After reading every word on this blog I am just beside myself. Can anyone tell me the address of the "I LOVE MARK SPENCER" blog. Oh, that's right, there isn't one.
